This project, named Timeless Flow, is a retirement residence designed by the talented designer Pei Yun Wu. With a focus on creating an elegant and healing home environment for retired residents, Wu has combined delicate neoclassical and modern simplicity to bring this vision to life. The design features light gray and lake blue as the base colors, creating a soothing and calming atmosphere.
One of the unique properties of this design is the use of exquisite molding, which walks along the metope and cabinet, becoming an elegant metaphor for doors and storage spaces. This not only adds a touch of elegance to the overall design, but also creates a visually appealing and concise household picture. The use of marble grain and titanium plated metal, along with the incorporation of arc details, further enhances the gentle flowing feeling of the space.
Timeless Flow is a testament to the designer's skill in integrating different material elements. Marble tile, titanium plated metal, grid, and molding are just a few of the elements that come together to create a visually stunning and cohesive design. The simple color expression, neat linear elements, and neoclassical symmetrical order contribute to a concise and clean visual picture, while also brewing a modern and elegant aesthetic.
With a total area of 128 square meters, Timeless Flow utilizes simple and soft colors, textures, and linear elements to transform doors and storage functions into visual metaphors. The use of exotic materials such as marble slab tiles, titanium, grilles, and wire panels adds a touch of sophistication and timelessness to the space.
In terms of functionality, the design takes into consideration the cooking patterns of Chinese families. An independent hot-dish kitchen is retained, while an ambry design is planned in the dining area to solve the storage problem inside the kitchen. This creates an expanded area for daily light food and storage functions, achieving a harmonious and comfortable functional balance between the independence of cooking and open interaction.
The Timeless Flow project was completed in Taiwan, with work starting in October 2021 and finishing in April 2022. Throughout the design process, the designer conducted extensive research to ensure that the space not only met the aesthetic requirements but also considered the changing health conditions that elderly residents may face in the future. The design allows for flexible and immediate adjustment and response to meet the residents' needs.
Timeless Flow has been recognized for its outstanding design and has been awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2023. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The design is respected for integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, providing fulfillment and positive feelings, and contributing to a better world.
